Shining the Light
There are a number of agencies across the country addressing the issue of child sexual abuse. Our fight can take many forms, and no one organization can do it alone. Each organization involved plays an important role in exposing, reducing, and ultimately ending child sexual abuse.
Many scholars and organizations focus on collecting information, analyzing data and other organizations understand the problem, guide actions, influence future policies, and educate the public.
A number of programs have been created to provide specialized training to parents, caregivers, professionals and the general public. They usually focus on stopping child sexual abuse by teaching others to identify the symptoms of child sex abuse and/or providing assistance/support to those affected by child sexual abuse.
Other groups join the fight against child sex abuse by working to change social norms through spreading awareness and influencing public policy and future laws.
